The cartoons were offensive but the up roar of anger was unexpected especially in this day and age. But we all know that the Islamic prejudice subject as been a soar one since 9-11. Many argued that the newspaper had the right so publish whatever they please because the right of freedom of speech.
Kurt Westgaard who drew the "offensive" caricatures of the Muhammad visited Princeton University and Yale University. The schools refused to display the cartoons anywhere and if they were put up they were pix elated. As for the United States, a very liberal country, only one newspaper in the entire country posted the cartoons.
